After such a lovely response to the picture of me on the beach practicing yoga I thought I would elaborate a little more on the photo.
Life is crazy. Everyone’s life is crazy, we don’t stop. With two small children I never stop. As every mother of young children can appreciate life is full on and you are constantly chasing your tail.
Now we have established that life is chaotic, we now must find the peace in the crazy. The calm in the chaos.
This is the biggest lesson I have learnt over the past few years and especially the last year. YOU MUST FIND THE CALM IN THE CHAOS.
You MUST find time for you. What I have learnt is you can only do this by making your well-being a priority.
We have to.
So how can we do this, by accepting that it’s not that we don’t have time, it’s that we don’t make it a priority.
Take the opportunities to do the things that make you feel good. Except help. Ask for help. Slow down. Try something a little outside your comfort zone, it doesn’t matter who’s watching. Do it for you, your health... physical and mental.
When you start to work on you, you help others around you to do the same.
I know it’s not always easy, I rolled out my yoga mat this morning over a mountain of toys, sat my children at the table with snacks and crafts, and I found my calm in the chaos.
So next time you feel overwhelmed with everything. Take a walk, after work, on your lunch, with the kids. Most of you reading this will live in the area, so go down to the beach, take off your shoes, feel the calm. I know I can just thinking about it.
Seaside beach love 🏖
